Triumph of the Cynics, Bro Media, Renewable Energy Revolution, Water Bubble, Old Homeowners, Racist Texts—and more
Have a good weekend, subscribers!
Well, it happened. A majority of voters cast their ballots on Tuesday for Donald J. Trump, electing him to a second term as President of the United States. This is the first time in 20 years that a Republican presidential candidate has won both the popular vote and the Electoral College, and only the second time in history that a president has been elected to two non-consecutive terms.
It was a decisive win, putting the wind at the back of his administration. With a mandate for change and a helluva lot of political capital, Trump and his team are expected to work quickly to enact his campaign promises, everything from tax cuts for the rich and corporations to mass deportations of immigrants to tariffs on foreign goods.
