I am cautiously optimistic about this being an option for more workers who can no longer balance employer demands against those at home or have the desire to achieve more purpose in their lives. All of those interviewed believe that this trend will continue into the foreseeable future, unless something drastic changes in the relationship between the employer and employee. Perhaps these portfolio careers will allow workers to have their cake and eat it too.
